Proton-exchange Membrane for VRFB

Ion exchange Membrane
Proton-exchange Membrane for VRFB

Proton-exchange membrane is also known as PEM or Ion-exchange membrane, is one of the key components in vanadium redox flow battery(VRFB) system. Poly(vinylidene fluoride) is used as the based material for proton conducting membrane, which offers stable chemical properties including good acid resistance and oxidation resistance. PVDF materials introduce polymeric hydrophilic/hydrophobic interactions into membrane formation, and propose a general and straightforward strategy for preparing membranes with nanometer-scale pores.

We have been able to scale up the manufacture process to produce PEM with properties of good chemical and mechanical resistance, high conductivity, low permeability of vanadium ions and low cost. Proton-exchange membrane can be used in strong corrosive medium such as acid or xidant, not only meets the performance requirements of vanadium redox flow battery, but also applied in fields of gold recovery and acid recovery.

• High conductivity and low permeation rate of vanadium ion.

• High mechanical strength.

• Good chemical stability, resistance to acid and oxidant.

• Affordable cost.
